District Mini-Bus Information
DO YOU NEED TRANSPORT FOR A CAMP OUTING OR OTHER ACTIVITY?
THE DISTRICT HAS A 16 SEATER MINIBUS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR USE!
Q.
Who can drive it?
A. Any one who has held a clean car (category B) license for at least
two years, who is over the age of 25, and has passed
a short test that can be organised via the DC. The District also
has a list of approved drivers who may be able to help you out if you do not
wish to drive yourself.

How much does it cost?
A.
The District charges £15 per day and 10p per kilometre to cover expenses such
as servicing and insurance.

What is the booking procedure?
A.
You may check availability by phoning Keith Thomas on 01689 824310. Download
the application form below, read , complete, and return to - Mr K. Thomas,
11 Mosyer Drive, Orpington, Kent, BR5 4DP. Enclose a deposit cheque for £50.00,
payable to "Orpington Scout District". You will receive written confirmation
of your booking, a time to collect the keys from the address above, and a
copy of the safety check- list.

Where do I collect the minibus?
A.
The minibus is stored in the garage at 3rd Orpington HQ, Goddington Lane.
Allow yourself 30 mins or so before your departure time. Before driving the
vehicle you must complete the safety check- list and note the starting kilometreage.
Any faults found must be notified immediately to Keith Thomas, and rectified
before driving.
Q.
How do I get my deposit back.
A.
Replace the vehicle in the garage in a clean and undamaged condition. Make
a note of the kilometreage on the completed checklist, and return it with
the keys, to Keith Thomas. Your deposit cheque will be returned with your
invoice for charges.
